Google Circles to be launched

With the launch of Google Circles, the techniques used to market websites are predicted to change. Webmasters have predicted that Google is going to be launching its own social networking site in the next few months. Some have predicted that the search engine giant will unveil its new site at the upcoming Google I/O conference. Google Circles allows users to share only select content with other people who belong to the appropriate social category in their lives. Google Circles will help put Google in competition with the largest social network out there. But yes, whatever Google launches, it is almost certain that it won’t launch a social network that will mimic Facebook. Google is aware that it cannot outdo Facebook. With more than 600 million users, Facebook is safe in the knowledge that nobody is really going to join yet another social networking site just share photos and status updates with contacts. Google Circles is the third attempt by Google to launch a popular social network....

Google’s Fight against Spam gets Dangerous

In its struggles to root out low-quality web pages and sites from its search results, Google has begun to resort to its own users in an attempt to fight spam online. The search engine giant has recently released an extension for its Google Chrome browser, which allows users to block certain sites in Google’s search result by simply clicking on a block button. The main idea behind this is that if a user comes across a particular low-quality site through Google, he or she can inform Google about this site by blocking it, and the site won’t show up again. When quite a sufficient amount of users block a single site, Google will finally deduce that the site in question is really a low-quality site and will permanently remove it from the search results. And as good a solution as this may be to root out low-quality websites; it can also have an unexpected side effect. It could lead to users indulging in highly biased opinions with regards to sites. This in turn transforms Google from an unbia...

Google Instant has not affected SEO

The introduction to Google Instant search has not changed search engine optimization. This interpretation was made by Jake Hird who is a senior research analyst at Econsultancy. Econsultancy is a digital marketing community. Hird believes that Google Instant was introduced for improving user experience, not altering the algorithm for listing pages. This essentially means that companies can maintain their methods for promoting their online business. Also, they can continue placing their keywords in stories in order to make them more relevant to the web browsers. Google, the search engine giant, completely dominates the search engine market. A study, carried out earlier this month, revealed that more than 66.6 per cent of all the searches that are conducted on the World Wide Web were done through Google in the month of December. According to Hird, extremely little has changed in the search engine optimization world after the introduction of Google Instant. “We just put out our SEO [searc...

Search Engine Algorithm for Google changed to Favor Web Sites with Original Content

A senior engineer from Google has confirmed that the search engine giant has altered its search engine algorithm in a way that it favors original content over content that has been copied with the view of increasing search engine rankings. The principal engineer at Google, Matt Cutts, confirmed last week that the search engine has indeed implemented a targeted change in its search algorithm. This algorithm has been designed in a way that will re rank those sites that have copied content from other web sites and also those sites that have considerably “low levels of original content”. Although many users will not notice this change, the change I algorithm will affect over 2 per cent of the search queries. Cutts says, “The net effect is that searchers are more likely to see the sites that wrote the original content rather than a site that scraped or copied the original site's content”. This change has apparently come in response to the questions challenging the quality of Google'...

Google Has Successfully Plugged another Horrific SEO Tactic

Recently, Google, the world's largest search engine giant, plugged a really offensive SEO tactic that was adopted by web sellers in order, to help them boost their page ranking results. This unscrupulous strategy basically targeted negative reviews, as a means of increasing targeted traffic. This in turn would help reach the top pages of Google's search engine results. Google had started adjusting their algorithms when an article was published that stated that Clarabelle Rodriguez had an extremely traumatic experience with a website that was known as, 'DecorMyEyes'. For starters, she was unhappy with her purchase, so she asked for a refund. This action, almost immediately triggered an avalanche of hate mail. One email even said that, “I am watching you.” The owner of the website was Mr. Borker. He was arrested last October after Ms. Rodriguez went to the police to file a formal complaint. His website once had a space in the coveted top ten listings. But now his page is ...
