There has been a lot of recent misinformation doing its rounds about the Android platform and the role that Google plays in supporting the ecosystem. But Google’s Android boss, Andy Rubin, doesn’t seem to think so. In an attempt to set the record straight, Andy wrote on Google’s blog last week in response to the latest stories that suggest that Google was intentionally restricting the openness of its platform. However, Andy says that Google has always been committed to developing an open platform for the mobile industry. But if Rubin’s claims of commitment and dedication are to be taken seriously, it is important to first note that many of Google’s own partners are beginning to show signs of uncertainty and doubt.
